Phyllis Hughes’ Carlisle Minuteman This silk screen rendering of the iconic Carlisle Minuteman was crafted by beloved local artist Phyllis Hughes. The work celebrates our town’s role in the American Revolution as the Minuteman, with tricorn hat and musket, marches to Concord on April 19 1775. Phyllis is well known for her oil and acrylic paintings, pen and ink drawings, and silk screen images of Carlisle scenes and events. Her drawings have been used in numerous publications including the most recent Open Space and Recreation Plan. The Minuteman is beautifully matted and framed in wood.
